PROMISE
KEEPERS
A
Non-Denominational Ministry for Men
Something
is happening to the men of America . They're changing. They're
looking for more out of life than mediocre relationships and daily
ruts. And they're finding it by becoming Promise Keepers --- men
of their word and men of God's Word.
The
Seven Promises of a Promise Keeper hold the keys to unlocking
the power and potential of men. The Seven Promises show men how
to cultivate deep, life-changing relationships with their wives,
their children, their friends, their churches and their Lord.
Promise
Keepers is for any man who wants to:
Know
his creator better;
Be
closer to his wife and children;
Tear
down the walls of division;
See
the entire world come to know God's love.
Men
will discover how to deepen their devotion to Christ through consistent
worship, prayer, and obedience. You will understand how a commitment
to integrity results in spiritual, moral, ethical, and sexual
purity.
You
will learn how to be a better husband, father, and friend.
And
by following the seven foundational principles, you will see God
work in ways you never thought possible.
Our
nation and our communities are suffering from a severe shortage
of men of integrity. It needs men willing to stand strong in the
midst of moral chaos. It needs men willing to reach beyond racial
and denominational barriers. It needs men willing to cement their
commitments and become Promise Keepers.
The
Purpose Statement of Promise Keepers is simple. --- Promise Keepers
is a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to uniting men through
vital relationships to become godly influences in their world.
Promise
Keepers believe that Christian growth starts by making some promises
--- promises we intend to keep. Our seven promises are meant to
guide us toward the life of Christ, so that he might transform
us from the inside out. We understand this is a process and that
only through the grace and strength of the Holy Spirit can we
become more like God's Son, Jesus Christ, and be a godly influence
in our relationships and world.
The
Seven Promises of a Promises Keeper:
A
promise keeper is committed to honor Jesus Christ
through worship, prayer, and obedience to God's Word, through
the power of the Holy Spirit.
A
promise keeper is committed to pursue vital relationships
with a few other men, understanding that he needs
brothers to help him keep his promises.
A
promise keeper is committed to practice spiritual,
moral, ethical, and sexual purity.
A
promise keeper is committed to building a strong marriage
and family through love, protection, and biblical
values
A
promise keeper is committed to support the mission
of his church by honoring and praying for his Pastor
and by actively giving his time and resources.
A
promise keeper is committed to reach beyond
any racial and denominational barriers to demonstrate
the power of biblical unity.
A
promise keeper is committed to influence his world
, being obedient to the Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31)
and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
The
Seven Promises of a Promise Keeper are principles that are powerful
and life-changing. As you share this vision of becoming men of
integrity, you will sharpen each other through mutual accountability
and meaningful interaction as brothers.
And
together, we will change the face of our community.
Our
Promise Keepers group meets every Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM
in the fellowship hall. Anyone is welcome to attend. Donuts and
coffee are always on hand.
THE
BEAR MINISTRY
The
church pews have Bears and Bear Wanna-Be's sitting in them. People
of the church brought these stuffed Bears and Bear Wanna-Be's
(those are cats, dogs, rabbits, etc.) to the Bear Ranger, who
ties tags on the toy animals, and places them around the Sanctuary.
The tag says the Bear has been among the congregation of First
United Methodist Church of Onalaska, Onalaska , TX . It has heard
the Word read, prayers prayed, songs of praise sung and the sermon
preached. It has been given love and loved others. Now it comes
to you with the blessings of worship and God's love. People take
and send Bears and Bear Wanna-be's to family, friends and strangers
who need to know the Church is praying for them and that God loves
them.
